Analog Moon - AM Radio October 8, 2007 - THE NEW ALBUM IS HERE!!!

At long last, the release of AM Radio is upon us. Thursday night we will be celebrating with you, our friends, at the fountain in 5 Points (that's cola, sc). We've got The Specs from Charleston and The Dave Britt Band performing as well as Analog Moon, so get there early.

We've been working on this album for well over a year. It really stepped up in February, when we went to Boston to lay down the foundation of what would become our most ambitious endeavor to date. Now, with it finished, it's time to celebrate! We'll be giving away a few free CDs as well as a couple of t-shirts and anything else we can dig out of the trailer. This is a 5 Points After 5 event, so get there early. You know...sometime after 5. We're very excited to see you all.

FREE TIMES: Blue Mountain, Chevelle, Analog Moon and More

Music Crawl October 3, 2007 - FREE TIMES: Music Crawl 2007

Fall is a magical time of year. The temperature cools, the leaves change and thousands of music-hungry Palmetto staters descend on the Vista for the Crawl.

Originated in 1999 as an effort to highlight, promote and support the diversity of musical talent in and around Columbia, the Free Times Music Crawl celebrates its eighth installment on Saturday with 24 acts spread across six stages in the Vista. For a mere $5, patrons 18 and older can freely visit stages at the Art Bar (where there are two stages), Flying Saucer, Headliners and Wild Wing Café for a full evening of eclectic and cutting-edge music, plus an info booth/stage in front of Blue Marlin. Wristbands sold at each venue will enable patrons to visit all five stages.

Live Earth July 2, 2007 - Seven is the magic number!

What's a seven-letter word for "surrounding conditions"? C-L-I-M-A-T-E

If I were you, I'd seriously consider going to Charleston, SC, this weekend to enjoy a great concert for a great cause. On Saturday night (the 7th night of the week), Analog Moon, Josh Roberts & the Hinges, and Danielle Howle will perform at The Music Farm as the Friends of Live Earth present the South Carolina Change the Climate Concert. Not to get all political on you, but if there is one issue that crosses party lines (especially here in our state), it's the environment. So whether you're red or blue, consider being green and having a good time with us on Saturday night, 7/7/07.

On a different note, thanks to everyone who came out to brave the heat and then the lightning and then the rain this past Saturday at the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater. We managed to get one set out before our very brave crew and some good friends managed to pack the entire stage rig just ahead of the storm.

Note: This weekend's show is for the climate, not in it. Get there early. The door opens at...wait for it...

...8.
I know. It's Mickey Mantle's number. So not only is it an all-around beautiful name, it is also a living tribute.
- George Costanza

Rhythm On The River June 25, 2007 - Since our last correspondence, we've released a live album and gone to Boston to record a studio album. We won't bore you with every other boring detail, but we do have some fun stuff on the horizon. This Saturday, for example, we'll be playing at the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater for the final 2007 installment of the CMC Steel Rhythm On The River Concert Series. We're looking forward to a great time. The fun starts at 5, so don't be late. In addition to the regular Rhythm On The River tomfoolery, you'll have the opportunity to help those less fortunate in our great state. This is from CMC Steel:
In response to the news over the weekend, the CMC Steel Rhythm on the River Concert Series has teamed up with Hardee's, the Cayce West Columbia Jaycees, and ESPN Radio's "The Sports Drive" to invite everyone to "Rock CAN Roll" for the Harvest Hope Food Bank on Saturday, June 30th.

From 5pm -8pm, everyone who brings 5 non-perishable food items or makes a monetary donation of $10 or more will receive a coupon for a FREE Hardee's Thickburger. This will coincide with the final show of the Rhythm on the River Concert Series, featuring Analog Moon, at the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater. Admission to the concert is FREE.

Harvest Hope Food Bank serves over 200,00 families in central South Carolina and recently lost over 150,000 pounds of food due to a faulty sprinkler system.

For more information, contact the West Metro Chamber of Commerce at 794-6504.
So bring some canned goods and get a free burger. Admission to the show is free. That sounds like quite a bargain. The best you ever had? Perhaps. There's more to come on the upcoming studio album. So stay tuned!

We were just a little band up in Boston... March 8, 2007 - Finally! Our first full-length studio album is underway. We've just returned from the great Northeast where we spent a week in Boston's Chillhouse Studios recording an album, the likes of which you have never heard and will never hear again. As many of you know, this project has been over a year in the making. What we began recording at Circuit Rider Studios became demos as the project gained scope. Most of these songs have been built up and stripped down multiple times and are just now getting just where we like them. Much of that is due in part to the leadership, vision, and general craftiness of our newly signed-on producer, Will Holland, who works from and partially owns Chillhouse. Will immediately locked in to what we were trying to do with the album. He had a great sense of the unconventional spirit of Analog Moon. We mixed tried-and-true techniques with modern ideas. We used analog tape delay and tracked some songs to an old Studer tape machine. We plugged and unplugged amps, changed rooms, and even shook the Earth tracking a bass at 4AM. And now we're very excited to finish up and present you with the fruits of our labor. We will keep you updated as progress continues.

Analog Moon - Live at Headliners January 25, 2007 - Analog Moon will be releasing their December 23, 2006 performance as a single disc live show. The performance was one set opening for a Captain Easy reunion show at Headliners in Columbia, SC, and featured Brian Sansbury as a guest keyboardist. It was recorded by Zack Thomas and mixed at Circuit Rider Studios by Todd Britton. The live album, containing seven tracks including some previously unreleased material and a cover, will only be available at Analog Moon performances but has already "leaked" on the internet at various websites. The formal release date is slated for March 31 at Headliners, where Analog Moon will be opening for Green Lemon. Advance copies may be available by request as early as next week.

December 15, 2006 - On December 23, we will have the honor of playing with one of Columbia's greatest ever now-defunct bands, Captain Easy! This local favorite is returning after an almost two-year split for one special performance. Get in! The fun doesn't end there. Analog Moon will take the stage before Captain Easy , and sitting in on keys for one night only will be none other than Columbia's own Brian Sansbury. Have Mercy on all of you. Pack a lunch. If you call now (and even if you don't), we'll throw in another defunct Columbia band reunion. That's right. Analog Moon drummer, Chris Jones, and his old band, Death To van Gogh's Ear, will play for those of you lucky and smart enough to get there early, so you do that. Merry Christmas.

October 23, 2006 - We would like to appologize for having canceled our performance at the Halloween Hootenanny at the last minute. We had a death in the family, and needed to be in Aiken for the weekend. At present, we have no other gigs booked for the near future, but we are working very hard on our new album. There will be more details to follow.

October 12, 2006 - Saturday! Saturday! and...next...Saturday! This weekend Analog Moon will be playing at The 20th Annual Group Therapy Chili Cook-Off. It's the best time of year! We'll be starting at 1:30PM. Bring Tums. After the chili party, we'll head over to MacDougals to play at The Bud Light Maxim Exposure party at around 10:30PM.

Next weekend, we'll head up to Pauline, SC, for Casey Hammet's Halloween Hootenanny. It's a two-night festival on 250 acres of beautiful land with lots of great regional music. And from what we hear, Casey knows how to throw a party. We'll be playing saturday night along with Petrillo Relents, The Fossil Record, Tom Hall & the Plow Boys, Bentz Kirby, Dave Britt, and Keith & Carly Acoustic. All this in a killer campsite for $10 per person. Children get in free. And don't forget - It's a Halloween party. Wear a costume on saturday night. All of the info is on this handy flier:

Halloween Hootenanny 2006

March 15, 2006 - Switch gears from Scottish to Irish, Analog Moon will be performing at this year's St. Pat's In 5 Points Celebration. Be at the Locals Stage on Santee Street with green beer in hand at 4:00 PM on Saturday. Todd will also be playing with The Ryan Monroe Pangroid Band at 12:20 PM at The Free Times Stage on Devine Street. This will be the first show supporting Ryan's new album, Pangroiod, which Todd produced. We look forward to seeing you!

February 20, 2006 - Big show this weekend! Analog Moon will be performing at the premiere of The MacGregor Crest, a film by local actor/director Rand Courtney this Friday, February 24th at Workshop Theatre on the corner of Bull and Gervais. Check it out:
500 years ago Scotland was devastated by the loss of its country’s sacred relic, “The Macgregor Crest”.
In present day Glasgow, Lindsay, a lowly accountant has first hand knowledge of its whereabouts and will have to do anything he can to attain it. Even if it means traveling to America across the ocean in a crate.
Under the thumb of a dangerous bookie and love stricken, Lindsay is running out of time and the stakes are too high.
Analog Moon will play for about 30 minutes before each showing and then perform a special set after the last showing. So, come out and see a great new flick and experience a unique journey through light and sound with your friends, Analog Moon. Beverages will be served.

The first showing is at 7:00 pm and the second showing is at 9:00 pm. For more information on this film and others from Innersight Multimedia, visit www.innersight-multimedia.com. Also, check the February 22 edition of Free Times for up-to-date information.

February 13, 2006 - Well, it's done. Minglewood has closed its doors. We had a great time on Saturday night celebrating (almost) 4 years of fun at one of 5 Points greatest bars. We played to a packed house, and everyone got to wish owners Kevin and Kelly Webb the best for the future. Analog Moon would also like to thank Free Times for announcing the show and featuring us in the Sound Bites section. Here's what they had to say:
Fronted by local musician and producer Todd Britton, Analog Moon deftly maneuvers between the vintage rock sounds of bands like ... The Band ... or Pink Floyd and modern disciples like Wilco or My Morning Jacket. The multi-tracked vocals and layered harmonies recall '60s British Invasion acts like The Zombies, while the music is one-part Woodstock and one-part Bonnaroo. It's not so much jam-oriented rock , though the touchstones are there , as it is honest-to-god classic rock that is too cool to hear on stations like Fox 102. Minglewood: 10 p.m., free; 254-9999. K. Langston

February 7, 2006 - Saturday night has been added as a last minute show. Analog Moon will be performing at Minglewood for the last time. Come out and help us say goodbye and thanks to one of our favorite venues in Columbia. Expect a great time!

Another bit of quick news - For those of you who don't already know, our very own Chris Deaver and his lovely Cammie will be proud parents this year! Deaver has taken up the full-time responsibility of readying his castle for a family addition and handed over his Analog Moon bass indefinitely. We wish them the absolute best and will keep you all updated. Picking up the bottom end in the interim will be local Columbia musician and Harmony Grove bassist, Mike Mills. Come out Saturday night and taunt him. It's fun.

January 16, 2006 - Moving right along... This weekend should be great for you Columbia area Analog Lunar-tics. I promise to never call you that again....maybe. Anyhoo, Analog Moon will be appearing not once, but twice this weekend in the capitol city. On thursday night, we will be eating pizza pies and playing your favorite Analog Moon songs at Mellow Mushroom in the Vista (more on this later). Friday night will be spent recovering, but saturday we will return to the Vista to play a set supporting The Dave Britt Band at Art Bar.

So last night at rehearsal we thought and thought, "How can we set the two shows apart? They are within a city block of each other with only two days between them. Hmmm. The Mellow Mushroom show shall be unplugged!" We stayed up all night (or 'til we got hungry) arranging acoustic versions of our songs. We are very excited for you to hear the fruits and veggies of our labor, so come join us for an intimate evening with Analog Moon as we turn the lights down low and sprinkle parmesan cheese on the night.

January 3, 2006 - HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thanks for all of the help, support, and sweet, sweet lovin' that was so generously bestowed upon us this past year. We saw lots of firsts in 2005. We had our first show, recorded our first CD (the self-titled EP), bought our first trailer, sold our first t-shirt, slapped our first Analog Moon sticker on a bathroom stall, and read our name for the first time in Free Times, The City Paper, and the State Paper. We are looking forward to an even bigger year in 2006. We've got a few hometown shows in January at some new places for some new faces, so tighten your laces. We'll crank up the year in Five Points at Pavlov's on January 12. That's the first thursday for all of you USC students. The next thursday, we'll be at Mellow Mushroom in the Vista. Come out early and get a pie. They're tasty. The following saturday we'll be playing with The Dave Britt Band again at Art Bar. Snagglepuss will also be appearing. After that, we're hoping to make a trip to Charleston, Charlotte, Augusta, Athens, or all of the above, so call your buddies and spread the word. See you soon!

November 9, 2005 - Come to Art Bar Thursday night. Seriously, you really shouldn't miss this. Aside from the monster rock hour we've planned for you and The Dave Britt Band and A Decent Animal, we've also got some new goodies to bring along. As you can see from Rusty's artsy fartsy photo on the right, we've baked a fresh batch of EPs to give out. And that, my friend, can take forever. Only two will fit in the toaster oven at a time. We've also just received our first shipment of t-shirts. Unlike the home-cooked EPs, they will not be complimentary, because while music is sometimes free, looking this fantastic is not. We will, however, be bringing along an assortment of colors and sizes from which to choose, because we're all-inclusive and non-exclusive....and redundant.

In other news, since our last update, we've begun recording our first full-length album. We have no details as of yet, but there will be familiar and unfamiliar sounds all squished together to form something very different and hopefully extraordinarily spectacular. We're very excited about it, and we hope you are, too. We won't be taking any time off from playing out to record. In fact, we are actively searching out gigs as I write this. Cale Johnson is our booking agent, so if you have any tips, email him at . We've also added another member to the fold. Brad Dampier will be running sound for us among other things. He can be reached at . Before the year is done, we have shows in Columbia, Aiken, and Florence. We hope to see you there.

October 4, 2005 - The Music Crawl was crazy. We had a great time and met some really cool people. We already can't wait 'til next year. This friday night is the big show in Aiken at the Aiken Brewing Company. Come on out and have yourself a ball. Here, take some flyers (Remember, you can't print these from your browser, so use a photo edit program or picture viewer or something):

September 28, 2005 - Tomorrow night's Pavlov's show has been canceled. Go to Minglewood and see Hippo instead.

August 29, 2005 - The September 15th Florence at Apple Annie's show has been moved to Wednesday, September 14. Just as much rockin', only sooner. We'll post flyers here in the next few days.

July 27, 2005 - We're really looking forward to a day out at the lake with King Hippo. We'll be starting at about 4:00 so come out early. D-Day sent us a link to this handy little map of how to get there: MAP OF DOCKSIDE. I think you can get driving directions there, too. Everyone be safe, and we'll see you there. There.

July 15, 2005 - The hometown show at Minglewood was a lot of fun. (Check out the pictures in the photos section!) Thanks a bunch to everyone who came out. For those of you who signed the e-mail list, we'll get that cranked up very soon. E. Allan Johnson's opening performance was really great, and we enjoyed having him sit on guitar for a song with us. A big thanks goes to Dax Vernon for bringing a light show that blew us all away and for taking some great pictures for this nifty website. The whole experience was really great for us, and we loved playing for all of our friends at home. Our next show is out at Lake Murray opening for our friends, King Hippo. Come on out and bring your suntan lotion.

The EP is almost finished. It's going to be short, sweet, and self-titled. We're in the mastering phase and also putting some finishing touches on the artwork. If you're good (or bad), you might just get a free copy at the next show.

July 5, 2005 - We had a great time in Florence this weekend. We're already trying to figure out when we can get back up there. A big thanks goes out to the Apple Annie's staff and Carlos from Rent-a-Roadie. Thanks a bunch to everyone who came out to party with us. I hope you had as good a time as we did. See you next time. This weekend is going to be crazy. We're playing at Minglewood in Five Points and gettin' crazy with the hometown folks. It's not something that you should miss under any circumstances. Be there. Trust me. Here are the flyers for that show (You can't print these from your browser, so use a photo edit program or picture viewer or something):

July 9, 2005 Minglewood Flyer - Poster size (8.5 x 11)

June 20, 2005 - The first gig was a blast. Thank you to everyone who came out. We can't wait to play again for you all at Minglewood on July 9th. That's the kind of place where you can really get down to it, and the folks behind the bar really know how to show you a good time. Come out and see for yourself. It's going to be lots of fun. Before that, though, we're playing at Apple Annie's in Florence. It's on thursday, June 30th. Two of our own are from there, so we really expect it to be a great time, too. Here are the flyers for that show (By the way, you can't print these from your browser, so use a photo edit program or picture viewer or something):

June 9, 2005 - New gigs are posted! We'll be starting out at Headliners Mainstage on June 17th opening for playing with Mood Cultivation Project. Come out early to catch our first gig. After that we're in Florence at Apple Annie's on June 30th. By the way, thank you to the Florence crowd who came out to Deaver's place for our practice the other night. We hope to see you again at Apple Annie's! After that, we're playing back here in good ol' Colatown again at Minglewood. Look for more gigs to be posted in the near future. We're planning to make trips to Charleston, Aiken, and Asheville very soon. See you there!
